NEW BROCHURES OUT NOW! The new 2010/11 separate brochures for Cartmel and Ulverston are now available both on this website (to download as a pdf file - see link on left) and in local post offices, shops and the library. We are holding Enrolment Sessions at Grange Library on Wednesday 8th September from 9.30 to 12 noon. We are also holding Enrolment Sessions at Ulverston Library on Thursday 9th September from 12 noon to 2 pm. You can post enrolments to our office, post them (and save a stamp!) into the box in Grange Library or telephone us. Our Office is open as usual, Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. Copies of the new brochures is available to view/download by clicking the link on the left hand side and can be collected from Grange Library, Ulverston Library and local Post Offices. This year we are providing a separate brochure for Ulverston, as well as our usual brochure for classes on the Cartmel Peninsula. As you will note in our brochure we work closely with community partners such as The Extended Services Co-ordinator, Judith Mitchell. Cumbria County Council website for Adult Education has all the various courses being offered at different centres across the county from September 2010 and with a search facility to find a course on a specific topic. The County is shortly to be reassessed for the Matrix Standard Award which was achieved previously in October 2006. This relates to the way in which the Adult Education Service offers information, advice and guidance to students. We hope that the information which we endeavour to provide is accurate, up to date and helpful in enabling learners to know exactly what they are enrolling for and that they will receive tuition which will meet their learning objectives. To assist in this process Cartmel has this year for the first time attached PDFs of all Course Information against course descriptions, to enable learners to download full details of courses prior to making enrolment decisions. As ever, as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement we would welcome your feedback on the brochure, the classes you are attending, the service you receive from our centre or any ideas you may have for future courses. Our office is open term time from 09.30 - 12.30 Monday to Friday. However, should you wish to contact us we do operate a 24 hour answering machine. We look forward to hearing from you. Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors who kindly paid to advertise in our brochure this year. This is a big help to fund our brochure and we are very grateful for all their support. Please use the link at the side to see who these local businesses are, you never know their services might be just what you are looking for!
Jude Godden This website is updated regularly, however courses advertised may change as well as the Tutor and start and end dates. We try to update information to reflect this however we cannot always guarantee complete accuracy. Where a course/tutor/venue has changed, we will notify the registered learners. Please note we try to amend Course Information Sheets to reflect this. |
