Cartmel Priory Church of England School is a school of which we are all justifiably proud. It has a committed and caring staff and is strongly supported by both its local primary schools and its parents. This enables us to quickly get to know our students and helps us to provide them with a supportive and caring environment from the moment they start school.
"Students thrive in this highly caring school" (OFSTED, June 2013)
Our mission statement is:
Run Faster, Reach Further, Aim Higher, Grow Tall
Work Harder, Think Deeper, Laugh Louder, Love All
This mission statement reflects our belief that education is about the whole child and that staff and students should aim high, but it also reflects our belief that learning should be an enjoyable and stimulating experience.
We aim for academic excellence and standards of achievement are high, but Cartmel Priory School also offers an extensive variety of wider learning opportunities for example, house sports and house music, the annual ski trip, history and modern foreign language trips, sports clubs and science and engineering club.
We are a Church of England Academy Trust secondary school, one of only two in Cumbria, and believe that "Every child matters to God". We will always do our best to ensure the students in our school fulfil their potential.
I hope our website will provide you with all the information you require but if not please contact school where the staff will be more than happy to assist you.

Well done to the GCSE students sitting exams this summer. We are delighted so many students of all abilities achieved excellent results. When the DFE data is published later this year, we expect to have a very positive value added score once again, reflecting the fact that the students make very good academic progress during their time at Cartmel Priory School. Unvalidated data indicates students scored close to 1/2 a GCSE per subject better than similar students nationally last year (based on the DFE Progress 8 measure). Full results will be published on the website in a few weeks time.
